FCA restructuring has already been launched and seeking funding for future plans looks smooth sailing . We keep hearing rumors about the revival of Alfa Romeo but it seems that many of these rumors are becoming real projects that eventually will be released on June 24, 2015 at which the Italian brand will release its new midsize sedan RWD .
According to Auto news Europe seems to Alfa Romeo is immersed in a new family of engines both diesel and gasoline we now offer new details. Besides being present in a number of future models of the brand, this mechanical family present under the hood of what is known as internally by the project code 952 (the famous saloon which is still the name of definitive unknown but now known as Giulia ).
Engines up to 480 hp are the same as fitted to the Maserati Quattroporte and Ghibli so presumably occupy the span of the top-end versions that point to rival the BMW M3 .
The second petrol engine will be more modest. It will be a four-cylinder engine and 2.0-liter turbo-injected equipped with Multi Air variable valve timing technology.
This four – cylinder is part of what is known as the global engine and will be the perfect base to offer a range of engines that go from 180 to 330 hp and will form an interesting family of engines.
Alfa Romeo will also offer a global variant that will serve as the basis for diesel family. Based on a tertiary 2.2 – liter turbo engine, this base will provide powers of 135 to 210 hp power.
In addition to these engines, Alfa Romeo is also working with VM Motori in a new version of the unit turbo diesel 3.0 – liter V6 that is equipped on some models of Jeep and Maserati although it seems that this V6 will be reserved for the SUV of the Italian brand which will arrive in 2016.
