Limitations of Williams F1 car explained by technical team

Perhaps it is not surprising that there have been issues when there have been so many changes to the car and to the team. It is perhaps inevitable that it can take time to optimise the vehicle’s capabilities.

According to Lowe, it is not unusual for the main limitations of an F1 car to be related to corner entry and stability during the testing stage. Many other aspects of the car are working extremely well. It has not been possible to identify a single factor that was to blame; in fact, the cause is likely to be multi-factorial.

It is common for such issues to be related to the aerodynamics of the car, with potential solutions involving the suspension and tyres likely to be considered.

Whilst Lowe admits that there is a lot of work ahead, he is confident in the capabilities of the wind tunnel and track correlation. With the exceptional technology that enables the team to measure aerodynamic performance, he is happy that the problems will be rectified.
